A powerful tool for farmers and agricultural water users looking to improve their water management practices and ensure they stay within their water allocation limits.
SWIIM’s advanced, scalable crop-water planning, management, monitoring and reporting toolset works on water delivered to the field by surface and pipe, in any region. With integrated weather/satellite consumption data by field, the SWIIM Solution is used by our clients for many purposes including tracking water use efficiency, auditing actual water used (near real-time) and tracking saved applied, consumed and sub-surface water use. The system works on all irrigation methods (drip, sprinkler and furrow) and any combination of methods on a single, or multiple fields.
Co-developed under a multi-year research and development contract with the US Department of Agriculture, the software utilizes field-specific data, which is then compared against real-life activities in the field, verified with SWIIM Certification.
WHAT CAN SWIIM DO?
SWIIM provides an easy-to-use interface and is designed for growers, agricultural land owners and farm managers to optimize their farm income and water use. Using the co-developed U.S. Department of Agricultural modeling algorithm, growers and water right owners enter their farm information graphically, including size, crop composition, and other specifics and a water balance is then tracked for each field. SWIIM Certification offers users with a third-part verification of water deliveries, consumption, efficiency, and realized conservation – that is, the full water balance. SWIIM can connect to already-installed equipment or work with you to provide the needed equipment, including installation, maintenance, data acquisition, quality control, monitoring, and complete reporting.
Reports are available throughout the growing season with the final water balance at the conclusion. SWIIM Certification services will then track actual results throughout the crop season looking for areas to optimize both applied and consumed water use. Be alerted immediately if you are exceeding your season-wide water budget and adjust accordingly. Follow remotely monitored evapotranspiration (ET) readings acquired through multiple sources to make optimal irrigation decisions. Receive certification of water use and conservation. Use the reporting for your stakeholders and/or for government agency compliance.
