SCH 40 PVC fitting designs combine years of proven experience and stress analysis to yield the optimum physical structure and performance for each fitting. Material reinforcement is uniformly placed in stress concentration areas for substantially improved pressure handling capability.

Unlike metal, PVC fittings never rust, scale, or pit and will provide many years of maintenance-free service and extended system life. PVC fittings are used for connecting, terminating, controlling flow, and changing the direction of piping in irrigation and drainage. PVC is generally inert to most mineral acids, bases, salts and parafinic hydrocarbon solutions. When purchasing pipe fittings, consider the application, as this will affect material type, shape, size and required durability. Fittings are available threaded or unthreaded, in many shapes, styles, and sizes.

All PVC SCH 40/STD white fittings produced by Spears® Manufacturing Company from PVC Type I cell classification 12454, conforming to ASTM D1784. All injection molded PVC SCH 40/STD white fittings shall be certified for potable water service by NSF® International and manufactured in strict compliance to ASTM D 2466. All fabricated fittings shall be produced in accordance with Spears® General Specifications for Fabricated Fittings.
