The Nelson R5 Rotator® is a micro sprinkler with a unique and patented drive principle. The water stream emitting from the nozzle is directed into an offset channel on the Rotor plate, creating a reactionary drive force. A viscous silicone fluid in the Rotor Motor controls the Rotation speed. Rotator® technology gives the R5 high uniformity and a distance of throw greater than other micro sprinklers.

Full Coverage Irrigation

The R5 Rotator offers a unique full coverage irrigation solution. In contrast to part coverage, drip or micro sprinkler systems, full coverage offers the following benefits:

• Improved infiltration
• Reduced crop stress
• Ability to manage salinity
• Ability to establish cover crops
• Dust suppression and crop cooling
• Increased overall nutrient availability
• Activation of fertilizers and chemicals

Always use the recommended pressure for each nozzle/plate combination. The absence of flow data in the below chart for a particular plate/nozzle combination indicates the pres-sure is outside the recommended range. FILTRATION & NOZZLE CLEANING NOTE: 75 mesh or finer filtration is suggested. The plate and nozzle of the R5 should not be removed. Any attempt to do so will likely cause permanent damage.
